Exercising

You can start exercising when you feel able, but gently at first. Walking and swimming are the best exercises and should be increased over the recovery period. It is advisable to avoid weight training for several months, and then concentrate on upper and lower extremity exercises. Strenuous tummy exercise may cause a hernia if you have a stoma. It may be advisable to discuss a fitness plan with your instructor.
