Therapy After Bowel or Bladder Surgery

For some patients undergoing bowel or bladder surgery for cancer it may be recommended that a further form of treatment is required. After your doctor has discussed the outcome of your surgery and your results he/she may recommend that you are referred to an oncologist. The oncologist is a doctor who is an expert in deciding if you need any chemotherapy or radiotherapy. These are treatments that are effective both before and after surgery.
